On October 4th and 5th the fifth Fraud Film Festival will take place in EYE Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Fourteen contemporary themes will be highlighted during the festival. These themes show us that fraud is big business: possible earnings are large and the risks small.

The Fraud Film Festival will deliver two full days of films and documentaries followed by live discussions about fraud and its prevention. The aim of the festival is to increase public awareness about fraud and foster cross industry collaboration in the fight against it. This way, sensitive issues are made accessible to a wide audience.

All the activities that the Fraud Film Festival Foundation initiates, arise from its mission to increase (international) awareness on the impact of fraud. To achieve this, the Fraud Film Festival brings different networks within the public and private sector together to share knowledge with each other and engage in a dialogue and allow critical debates, in which the Fraud Film Festival will always adopt a neutral and independent position.

Next to the Board, the Foundation has a Board of Inspiration which has an advising role and takes care of substantive development and initiates discussion on the content. The Dutch festival has a follow up in New Zealand. Do you have the ambition to organize a FFF in your country?

The festival searches for inspiring documentaries and movies that fit the themes. At the end of the screenings, there is time for Q&A with interesting speakers. Lawyers, policy makers, journalists, prosecutors, victims and perpetrators of fraud will show their own perspective from ‘behind the scenes’. Through this thematic approach and experts in this subject, the Fraud Film Festival creates interesting and critical discussions between panel members and the audience.
